The Capital Area Law Enforcement Foundation Inc. provides assistance to local and federal law enforcement officers in the Metropolitan Area that suffer from a career ending injury or ailment.
Metropolitan Police Detective Joe Crespo, Travis Barton, and Officer Greg Alemian founded the Capital Area law Enforcement Foundation Inc. (CALEF) in 2012. After 9 years assisting the Washington, D.C. Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors in the annual golf tournament, a need for an organization to assist local law enforcement officers, injured in the line of duty, was born.
The Capital Area law Enforcement Foundation Inc. operates solely on donations from citizens and businesses, and are always looking for community support. All of our board members are law enforcement officers and/or survivors that volunteer their time to this organization. The Capital Area Law Enforcement Foundation is a nonprofit organization under Section 501(c)(3) with the Internal Revenue Service. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent permitted by law.
